After you've decided on a domain name, and chosen a hosting plan, you'll want to begin to setup your web site. To do this, you'll need a few good tools that will help immensely.
FTP Program: FTP stands for (File Transfer Protocol), and an FTP client is a program that will allow you to move files back and forth to your web server. One easy-to-use client is CuteFTP.
You can also use programs like Microsoft's FrontPage or Macromedia Dreamweaver. Linux based hosting plans at Turtlepop include frontpage extensions for seemless web site development.
All customers receive the CPanel control panel (above left) to help manage their account, and Fantastico (above right) to help easily install a host of terriffic, easy to use website related software.
If you've just set up a new domain and hosting account, it may take 24-48 hours for your new domain name to be accessible from all parts of the web. In the meantime you can still access your hosting space and build your website by following the instructions you receive in your account activation email.
Thats it! If you have any questions, feel free to email us at questions@turtlepop.com, or visit our Frequently Asked Questions.
Best of luck,
